Well I've spent some time down here in New Orleans and I must say that the people here are some of the most warm and friendly people that I've met. They are generous of their time and love to converse. It is a very refreshing thing to experience coming from a city where some of the people I run into are as cold as the night
time fog. I can hold a conversation with almost anyone, even strangers. Almost everyone I met has been helpful and I bet if I were to ask them for the shirt off their back they would do it. OK, maybe I'm exaggerating but they not only give you directions they'll give you recommendations on a restaurant if that's where you're going. But seriously, check out some of the Katrina stories on the internet. There are some unsung heroes that are genuine "Saints". They are also some of the most extroverted people I know. They will tell you what's on your mind and not think of it. Being an introvert myself you would think that I would shrivel in this city of extroverts but NO, for the most part I find most people genuinely good people and that's what has kept my sanity from the loneliness and homesickness that I occasionally have. Sure the politicians are all corrupt and even the police cannot be trusted and there are lawyers everywhere that want to represent you and sue the hell from anyone that has wronged you. But this is a very tolerant city that loves its music, loves people, loves food, loves life, and has been hospitable to this wearisome traveler.
